Ajrakh is most ancient art form traced around 5000 years old. It is complicated hand-block printing method from Sindh (now in Pakistan), Kutch, Gujarat (India) using natural colors extracted from minerals, metals, camel dung and vegetables, fruits. Its motifs are inspired by nature like Sun, Plants and Stars and resembles geometrical shapes. Ajrakh modal silk saree in black vertical stripes with temple border looks very stylish. It holds the legacy from Indus Valley Civilisation and evidence of Ajrakh is found in Mohenjodaro excavation as well. It undergoes 16 process in making a single piece of saree which takes around 15 to 21 days. Its natural Modal Fabric and pigments makes it ideal to wear in both summers and winters.
